New Boating Routes During I-74 River Bridge Reconstruction

July 12, 2017

The I-74 Mississippi River Bridge construction is scheduled to begin in July, including additional interchange and roadway improvements. The complete construction of the bridge is anticipated to take about 3 1/2 years.

It is recommended that river traffic use an alternate route away from the river banks in order to avoid the construction zones. Construction in the Mississippi River is anticipated to begin late July and silt curtains will be installed to catch sediment. Buoys and warning signs will be installed to warn boaters navigating the Mississippi River near the I-74 River Bridge.
